An unforeseen accident, a sudden serious illness: around 15,000 blood donations are needed every day in Germany.
Blood is needed continuously every day to care for patients: For example, for the treatment of cancer, operations or accident injuries.
Donating blood is the easiest way to save lives.
What to wait for? Save lives lying down now! Every type is in demand!
Benefits for donors: Learn blood type, health check & snacks After the first donation, donors (1 ) find out their blood group. In an emergency, this information can also save donors’ lives. (2 ) Every blood donation is also a small health check: before donating, blood pressure, pulse and the iron and haemoglobin levels in the blood are measured. The donated blood is carefully tested for infectious diseases. (3 ) Drinks are available before and after the blood donation: drinking plenty of fluids is important on the day of the blood donation. After the blood donation, there is a snack or a food package to strengthen you and as a thank you for your commitment. (4 ) And of course: the good, satisfied feeling of a good deed.
It’s that simple: Book an appointment and help up to three people with one blood donation in less than an hour! The blood collection itself takes about 10 minutes. The rest of the time is needed for registration, filling out the donation questionnaire, the confidential medical consultation and the rest period following the blood donation.
