comes from a famous family of musicians in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Countless concerts all over the world, appearances on radio and television as well as her recordings are proof of the pianist’s impressive solo career. Their repertoire ranges from classical music to contemporary modernism.
Piazzini has recorded more than 50 CDs, including complete recordings of W.A. Mozart (all piano concertos and piano sonatas), J. Haydn (all piano concertos), L.v. Beethoven (all piano concertos) and F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s Lieder ohne Worte as well as – somewhat off the beaten track – “Piazzini plays Piazzolla”.
In 1998 and 2009 she was awarded the Argentine press prize for best pianist, in 2001 the prestigious Tortoni Prize and in 2007 she was nominated for a Grammy together with Bernarda and Marcos Fink for their CD “Canciones Argentinas”.
Carmen Piazzinni was a professor of piano at the Karlsruhe University of Music for many years and has led the piano class at the International Summer Academy Radolfzell since 2009. She announced her retirement here in 2023. The exceptional artist bids farewell to her Radolfzell audience with her solo performance.
