British vocal ensemble “VOCES8” performs in the Minster

In keeping with the motto “polyphonic | monophonic”, this year’s Lake Constance Festival offers an absolute musical treat in terms of choral singing: On Sunday, 05.05.2024, the internationally renowned vocal ensemble “VOCES8” from Great Britain will be performing their program “London by Night” in the Minster of Our Lady at 7.00 pm. The members of “VOCES8” come from London – and you will hear that in this program! (Almost) all the singers come from the world-famous English choral tradition and have absorbed English choral literature with their mother’s milk. In their program “London by Night”, “VOCES8” present the whole range of English choral music, from William Byrd and Thomas Tallis to Arthur Sullivan and Benjamin Britten to contemporary composers such as Roxanna Panufnik. In addition, there are songs from the country’s folk-rock scene, in monophonic and polyphonic arrangements, for example by singer-songwriter Kate Rusby or the British band Mumford & Sons. A tribute to the music of the British Isles. The audience can look forward to a unique combination of musical skill, tonal charm and captivating stage presence at this performance.
