Workshop for music-loving children

3. December | 16:30 bis 18:00 Uhr

Workshop for music-loving children

The accordion class of the Trossingen University of Music will take listeners on a musical journey through the history of accordion development in the concert “Dasselbe anders” on Saturday, December 3, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the Milchwerk. Admission is free, donations are welcome. Under the direction of lecturers Fanny Mas and Professor Hans Maier, the musicians show through their choice of pieces and their playing how much the position and perception of the accordion has changed over the past decades. They attach great importance to interaction with the audience.

Workshop for children

For this reason, Fanny Mas and Hans Maier are also offering a workshop on the subject of music history for children of primary school age in the run-up to the concert, in which the students will introduce their musical contributions in a child-friendly way from a music education perspective. The workshop starts on 03.12.2023 at 16.30 hrs. The children should discover the different musical languages in a playful way. You will also explore the questions of how old “early music” actually is, why “new music” is called that and what distinguishes the two from each other. By singing, moving, listening and feeling, the children immerse themselves in the world of music history in order to understand with all their senses why music is always “the same in a different way”. For Fanny Mas and Professor Hans Maier, the two lecturers in the accordion department at the Trossingen University of Music, this component is an important part of music education, which is based on 15 years of experience and tradition in Trossingen.
